Blogging / Writing Press Releases for UF PRSSA

The PRSSA website has a section called “Chapter News,” where PRSSA chapters from around the country submit press releases of events that took place at their chapter. The press releases are written by students who participated in the event and are willing to write about it (with specific details of the events such as who, what, when, where). The press releases are a great opportunity to see what other chapters are doing, as well as get publicity for your chapter’s event. It is also a great writing opportunity that you can include on your resume!

Additionally, we want to encourage members to write blog posts related to public relations at any time. If you have an idea you want to write about, talk to us and we will work with you to help draft some ideas. We will then review the article and post it on our blog!

If you are interested in writing a press release for an event, please review these guidelines:

  • Must be a PRSSA member

  • Must be able to attend and stay after the event

  • Must have some writing experience (preferably with press release, but we will work with you if you have not)

  • Must meet deadlines we ask you to submit the press release by

If you sign up for a day and are unable to make it to the event, you must give us a 24-hour notice. Please contact VP of Public Relations, Elena Limonta, at publicrelations.ufprssa@gmail.com if you are interested.
