The Public Relations Student Society of America at UF is participating in Give BIG America, a national grassroots campaign organized by Connect Our Kids to support foster children across the country.

On November 13, individuals will publish a short video on social media sharing their family Thanksgiving traditions, donate $6, and ask six of their friends to do the same.

Volunteers across the country are donating their time and talent to support this project and we’re asking you to join us. Give $6 and invite six of your friends to do the same—that’s it.

THE CAMPAIGN
Give BIG America™ is a grassroots campaign to support foster children across the country. This November, America will pull time, talents and treasures to support Connect Our Kids and six trusted partner organizations who work directly with foster children. The Give BIG America™ campaign is organized by Connect Our Kids, a non-profit developing technology to significantly improve the family recruitment process. 

WHY 6?
Operating under the "six degrees of separation" idea, all living things are six or fewer steps away from you. In other words, "a friend of a friend" statements can be made to connect any two people in just six steps. We are all connected. You are six degrees away from a foster child. 

THE GOAL
Advanced technology is sorely underutilized when connecting America's foster children. The foster care system is overburdened and social workers are overwhelmed. This nationwide effort is designed to raise money so Connect Our Kids can develop intelligent software that will dramatically improve the family recruitment process. Every child deserves a loving family, and together, we will connect our kids to a safe and permanent home.
